The story behind this volume is that Maurice Girodias published this under his father, Jack Kahane's, old imprint The Obelisk Press; knowingly pirating the work. His father had sold the publishing rights to all Obelisk Press titles earlier. Nonetheless, Girodias may have felt entitled to take the liberty as the titles were not being reprinted, and so brought out the softbound Obelisk Miller reprints of the late 1950s and early 1960s.
