First line:
" My sister's restaurant was a dingy sort of place. "
Fans and scholars of the macabre will no doubt note the author's name "Betty Short"
was also the name of the victim in the infamous Los Angeles murder case known as
"THE BLACK DAHLIA" Murder.  Not sure what to make of that.

Several pages of interesting information in back of book, including news release entitled
JURY VOTES FOR FABIAN AND SABER BOOKS and several pages of trial excerpts
from the April, 1958 case on Obscenity which would eventually reach the Supreme Court
and establish "community standards" for gauging "obscenity."
