![]() George Von Rosen was the inventive publisher of MODERN MAN and SUNBATHING REVIEW, both aimed at capturing the eyeballs of young men by catering to their interests. Hugh Hefner was a young employee of Von Rosen's when he hatched the concept for PLAYBOY -- essentially a more inspired, more refined version of MODERN MAN with color photography, and more attention to the details of the 1950s man's interests. MODERN MAN featured guns and car-racing along side its girlies as a matter of policy. As the decades turned, the editorial board was slow to change with it. New titles will be added as they become available. |
