First line:
" It was a view Victoria Johnson had once thought the prettiest in America: the twinkling lights of Hillsboro winking up from the valley as the thousands of trees that were the town's biggest pride swayed in the twilight breeze that swept in from the huge corn and wheat farms that surrounded the little plateau that formed the nucleus of the town."

These XXE books have an interesting element to them in that their copyright page shows the complete printing history of the books which often site the original source, usually a Brandon House or Barclay House original, sometimes a Female Prisoner Series, BUT in this case... the author Roger Grey is a familiar Liverpool Library Press author and this title, THE BLACKMAILED WIFE was the title of LLP's second book. Oddly enough, this does not reprint LLP 102, but I have yet to identify the true source and original publication source of this reprint.
